The sites history
By Paige:
I was watching the new Disney Channel show ‘Suite Life on Deck’ and I noticed a new character, Bailey. I quickly looked up the actress who played Bailey, and discovered it as Debby Ryan. My first idea was to start a fansite, and I was really hoping it would be the first of its kind. To my dismay, there were already a few really good fansites out there for Debby Ryan. I decided that maybe a fansite wasn’t such a good idea, as I didn’t have any image accounts. Then, I got another idea – a Debby Ryan style site. I browsed the internet, and I could find any … so I decided to make one. I called it ‘A Million Dresses’ (I wanted something original) and uploaded it to freewebs, before submitting the site for hosting at Starszz. Luckily, it was accepted.
A few days later, Starszz partenered with hollywood.com. A week later, A Million Dresses was launched on debby-style.starszz.com. It started out small, but practically grew overnight. Within two weeks we had won our first award.
Soon after, an announcement came that Starszz was giving away domains to all of their hostees. I got so excited, and asked for debby-style.net. A few days later, I got the site transferred over (thanks Lindsay!) and debby-style.net was launched. Then, I decided to change the name to Debby Style because it went better with the domain.
By Caroline:
After Paige decided to leave, she gave it to Samantha and me as we were the cowebs at the time. We had a great time running the site but soon Samantha’s personal life was too busy so I took over the site myself. I feel very lucky to own Debby-Style and want to thank Paige, Alexandra and Samantha for all the hardwork they put into the site!
